SafeFanControl is designed with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. The App Collects No Data
SafeFanControl makes no network connections during normal operation. The only exception is the optional alert notification feature: if you configure it, the app will send outbound requests to the webhook endpoint you specify. No data is collected or stored by us as a result of those requests — the connection is purely from your device to the endpoint you choose.
What we do not collect:
- No personal information
- No telemetry or usage analytics
- No crash reports sent automatically
- No third-party SDKs, analytics, or ad libraries
- No hardware identifiers transmitted
What stays on your device:
- All sensor readings and fan data
- All settings and preferences (stored in macOS standard user defaults)
- Diagnostic reports (generated locally; only shared if you explicitly click “Send Report”)
2. Information We Receive When You Purchase
Payments are processed by Waffo Pancake, our Merchant of Record (MoR). When you complete a purchase, Waffo Pancake collects your payment details under their own privacy policy. We never see or store your payment card information.
The only personal information we ever receive is the purchase information passed to us by Waffo Pancake — specifically the details you provide at checkout — which we use solely to generate and deliver your license key. We do not use it for marketing or share it with any other third parties.
3. This Website
This website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Standard server access logs (IP address, browser user-agent, pages visited) may be retained by Cloudflare under their own privacy policy. We do not run any first-party analytics.
A cookie consent banner is shown on first visit; if you accept, a small cookie is stored to remember that preference. No tracking or advertising cookies are set.
4. Data Retention
We retain your email address for as long as necessary to support your license (e.g., to help recover a lost key). You may request deletion at any time via the contact details below.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
6. Children’s Privacy
SafeFanControl is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app or website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
